The City
Sydney:
The most beautiful, exhilarating city in the world is Sydney. It is the capital of the state of New South Wales, Australia. Sited on Australia’s south-eastern coast, Sydney is the country’s prime city and, with its splendid harbour and strategic position, is one of the most vital ports in the South Pacific. In the early 19th century, when it was still a small convict settlement and the first settlers had barely penetrated the interior, it had already conventional trade with the Americas, India, China, South Africa, and Pacific Islands.
Sydney is a centre for global tourists. Hotel, motel accommodations and restaurants are found all over the city, though they are especially numerous in central Sydney and the Kings Cross area to the east of the central business district. It’s paradise for epicureans. The Harbour City is full of erudite spots to eat that showcase the excellence and richness of local produce. It has remarkable mountains like The Blue Mountains, home to dramatic scenery, bushwalks, caves and enticing spots to eat and shop. It has the world’s most renowned opera house and many other land mark and tourist places. Sydney is, most of all, a city for physical pleasure. Sydney is also a city of yachting. The elaborate mix-up of water and buildings makes a striking hollow either by day or by night.
